A person who studies the physics of the earth. Geophysicists measure, examine, and explore the physical properties of earth, from below the ground to the atmosphere, from the depths of the ocean to the tops of volcanoes. Geophysicists use the principles of physics, mathematics and geology to study the surface and internal composition of the earth.
