Closed drain in a gas processing terminal is required to allow process vessels to be drained during maintenance; the system usually consists of a series of closed drains headers and a vessel. The closed drains is usually sized to take the largest inventory from the process trains and duty/standby pumps are provided for pumping the liquids back into the process train.
