Yossi Maiman – Chairman of the Board. The Merhav Group’s subsidiary, Medgas, holds 25% of EMG’s equity, the balance being held by Egyptian partners. Merhav communication also owns 51% of Channel 10 TV, with the remainder divided 25% to Duna Investment (Ronald Lauder) 19% Monarch (controlled by Arnon Milchin) and 5% Milchin communications
Using coal seam methane for LNG is a new development. Until recently this did not work as the gas does not contain the higher value liquids (LPG and condensates) that can offset the high capital cost of an LNG development. When LNG prices rose however, the equation started to change and it became economic to convert LNG from CSG, such as SHELL’S planned coal seam gas to liquefied natural gas project in Gladstone
All to do with subsea production. If you have a subsea wellhead it is controlled by an umbilical cable linking the wellhead and the control room. The umbilical cable also usually contains tubes to enable chemicals to be injected into the wellhead (namely to control and enable chemical delivery). The flowline is where the hydrocarbon product flows from the wellhead to the platform or shore and the rise is where the flowline goes up a jacket or up to a floating production platform, namely where the flowline goes vertically upwards to the surface of the sea
Sequence stratigraphy is a method of stratigraphic interpretation that combines the chronological order of the accumulation of sediments, their stratal architecture and the geometric relationships of their facies to determine depositional setting and predict stratal continuity. The workflow of sequence stratigraphic analysis first identifies the genetic units and bounding surfaces that compose the stratigraphic section in outcrop, core, well-log and seismic data
In a petrophysical sense, thin beds can be defined as beds that are thinner than the resolution of the logging tools used to characterize them. This implies that the direct log values do not represent the true bed or layer properties, but rather an average of multiple beds. In the typical case of sand interbedded with shale, the logs will reflect an average of sand and shale properties. Direct interpretation of the log readings will therefore result in a significant underestimation of reservoir quality. Once such a scenario has been recognized, an interpretation methodology can be chosen that takes the inadequate log resolution into account. One such method is the Thomas-Stieber method
The Thomas-Stieber model was developed to estimate net/gross (sand fraction) and sand porosity in sand/shale sequences with bed thickness below log resolution (thin-bed analysis)
