Where the cost of laying down a natural gas pipeline, because of the long distance connection of the CNG refuelling station to the natural gas pipeline becomes unaffordable, the refuelling stations which are too far from the existing pipeline, may be served by means of cylinder truck, filled at a normal refuelling station (mother station), which in turn serve daughter stations, and operate also for industrial and residential application natural gas supply in case of emergency, such as pipeline
service break-down.
To convert the price in dollars of 1 ton of coal (lower heating value) to 1 mmbtu = divide by 24
These are purpose built LNG tankers than can regasify the LNG gas offshore on their onboard equipment and deliver high-pressure natural gas
The advantage is that the regas facility does not have to be constructed onshore, it has lower construction costs, shorter development period (12–18 months), allowing smaller projects or seasonal markets to develop. & ability to serve a few markets during different seasons.
The major difference between the SRV and FSRU concept is that the FSRU is able to receive cargoes from conventional LNG carriers via a ship-to-ship LNG transfer system, and store the received LNG aboard before regasification and discharge.
