A customer who has a contract for interruptible service which enables the supplier to interrupt supply of gas at short notice and the buyer to pay a lower tariff for the gas. Low-priority service offered to customers under schedules or contracts which anticipate and permit interruption on short notice. Often in a gas transportation contract, it is possible that under certain circumstances that additional capacity (in excess of ‘firm capacity’) be made available. Whilst for instance the UK Interconnector is obliged, subject to physical and operational conditions, to make such additional capacity available whenever possible, availability may be interrupted at times and this capacity is therefore described as ‘interruptible capacity’.
In 1952 PM David Ben-Gurion declared the establishment of the Israel Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC). The IAEC operates two research centers: the Soreq Nuclear Research Center and the Nuclear Research Center Negev. The IAEC is headed by the Director General who reports directly to the Prime Minister. Based in Paris, is an autonomous agency linked with the OECD. The IEA is the energy forum for 28 member countries. IEA Member governments are committed to taking joint measures to meet oil supply emergencies. They have also agreed to share energy information, to co-ordinate their energy policies and to co-operate in the development of rational energy programs. Founded during the oil crisis of 1973-74, the IEA’s initial role was to co-ordinate measures in times of oil supply emergencies. As energy markets have changed, so has the IEA. Its mandate has broadened to incorporate the “Three E’s” of balanced energy policy making: energy security, economic development and environmental protection
