Parent rock refers to the original rock from which something else was formed

A saturated hydrocarbon (for example, methane, ethane). Heavier paraffin hydrocarbons form a waxlike substance that is called paraffin. These heavier paraffins often accumulate on the walls of tubing and other production equipment, restricting or stopping the flow of the desirable lighter paraffins and may, if severe, restrict production.

For instance for a power station, these would include expenses that are influenced by the capacity of the generation unit, replacements, oils and minerals, as well as expenses that depend on the amount of energy generated such as fuel expenses and maintenance per hours of generation
