The earliest geochronological age, or geological age. First of six main divisions in ascending order in the upper cretaceous series representing rocks deposited worldwide during the Cenomanian age which occurred 99.6 to 93.5 million of years ago during the Cretaceous period. Rocks of the Cenomian stage overlie those of the Albian stage and underlie rocks of the Turonian. Rocks from this period are very abundant in Israel, in the Galilee, in the North of the Negev in proximity to the Dead Sea and in the Eilot region and include marine sedimentary rocks which is proof that these regions were covered in water at a certain period.
