Aframax vessels are tankers with a deadweight between 75,000 and 119,999 tons. Aframaxes tend to carry dirty cargoes, most often in parcel sizes of 70,000 or 80,000 tons (500,000 to 700,000 barrels). Typical routes include Caribbean exports to the US Gulf, lightering movements in the US Gulf, North African exports to Southern Europe, North Sea and Baltic exports to Northern Europe and South East Asian exports to the Far East
