Solar Paz was created in late 2008 as a subsidiary of Paz Oil, in the Paz Industries division, after the cabinet approved incentives for independent electricity production using solar energy. Solar Paz is focusing on installing photovoltaic systems that will produce up to 50 kilowatts for commercial and industrial enterprises. To date Paz has already installed 114 kilowatt of photovoltaic facilities on the rooftops of Paz gas stations at Atlit and Kadima and Pazgas’ offices at Airport City. The Paz solar plants include: (1) Kadima where a 29 KWH system has been installed for 700 thousand shekels; at Atlit a station that will supply 43 KWH; at the station at Tivon a 36 KWH station will be installed and a power station at Ashelim that will supply 15 MW. Paz is the first energy company to install photovoltaic panels on the rooftop of its petrol stations
A device in which a nuclear fission chain reaction occurs under controlled conditions so that the heat yield can be harnessed or the neutron beams utilized. All commercial reactors are thermal reactors, using a moderator to slow down the neutrons
These are substances in chemically combined, dissolved or undissolved state that are contained in the geothermal fluid. The impurities content of a geothermal fluid is a factor that may seriously affect the economics of exploiting a particular geothermal field. Fluids with a high mineral content can incur special effluent risks and have corrosive effects on commercial plants
The nuclear fuel cycle is the series of industrial processes which involve the production of electricity from uranium in nuclear power reactors.
When a nucleus fissions, it splits into several smaller fragments. These fragments, or fission products, are about equal to half the original mass. Two or three neutrons are also emitted. The sum of the masses of these fragments is less than the original mass. This ‘missing’ mass (about 0.1 percent of the original mass) has been converted into energy according to Einstein’s equation. Fission can occur when a nucleus of a heavy atom captures a neutron, or it can happen spontaneously
