The mass or weight of a substance per unit volume. For instance, the density of a drilling mud may be 10 pounds per gallon. Specific gravity, relative density, and API gravity are other units of density. The weight of crude oil, indicating the proportion of large, carbon-rich molecules, generally measured in kilograms per cubic meter (kg/m3) or degrees on the American Petroleum Institute (API) gravity scale

The Alaska gas pipeline that will transmit about 4 bcfd of natural gas from Alaska North Slope Gas to markets and will be the largest private sector construction project built in North America at a total estimated cost of $20 billion. The project combines the financial strength, arctic experience and technical resources of two of the most capable and experienced companies in the world, namely BP and ConocoPhillips. The project includes the construction of 700 miles of pipeline through Alaska, and then into Canada through the Yukon Territory and British Columbia to Alberta. Should it be required to transport gas from Alberta, the project will also include a large diameter pipeline from Alberta to the Lower 48 states.

Used to recover purified ethane from a high pressure, dense phase natural gas stream.

The separation of companies or business units that are currently under one corporate umbrella

The methods used to manage energy demand including energy efficiency, load management, fuel substitution and load building. The concept is designed to encourage consumers to modify patterns of electricity usage, including the timing and level of electricity demand. It refers to only energy and load-shape modifying activities that are undertaken in response to utility-administered programs. It does not refer to energy and load-shaped changes arising from the normal operation of the marketplace or from government-mandated energy-efficiency standards. Demand side management is achieved by 4 means: decrease demand for energy; increasing demand during off-peak hours; shifting demand from peak to off-peak hours and conservation

The rate at which energy is delivered to loads and scheduling points by generation, transmission or distribution facilities. The level at which electricity or natural gas is delivered to users at a given point in time

An initiative that encourages or facilitates electricity consumers to modify their usage in a way that reduces consumption in a specific time period or shifts consumption from one time period to another
