Safety Distances

There are three safety distance measures used:

•House Burning Distance (HBD), the safe distance between a house and the energy infrastructure, such as a natural gas pipeline;

•Safe Escape Distance (SED), which refers to the safety range for population exposed to existing energy structures;

•Safe Distance (ESD), which refers to a range in which there are no potential ignitable and flammable sources.

The principle of a sacrificial anode is in connecting an external anode to the material to be protected from corrosion (such as a subsea pipeline) and passing of an electrical DC current so that the whole area of the metal surface becomes cathodic and therefore does not corrode. The anode electrolytically decomposes while the object remains free of damage

Two LNG Terminals on the US Gulf coast. Freeport received FERC approval to begin operations in July 2008 and Sabine in August 2008

IEC Rutenberg A (installed capacity of 2 x 575 MW) & B (installed capacity of 2 x 550 MW) coal fired power station located in Ashkelon. The Rutenberg coal power station in Ashkelon requires 330 thousand liters of sea water per hour when it is working on full capacity. Thus, when such a station is working at full capacity for 13 days it requires more water than the annual production capacity of the Ashdod water desalination plant

The maximum amount of stress that a material can sustain without failure

The data entered on a run ticket is used to determine the volume of oil released from a storage tank or flowed through a meter
