A detailed information source on estimated U.S. drilling expenditures. Conducted annually since 1954. The survey contains data on the number of oil and gas wells and dry holes drilled, their accompanying footage, and their estimated drilling costs for all active drilling areas – both onshore and off – in the U. S.  Data on drilling expenditures for exploratory and development wells, horizontal wells, coal-bed methane gas wells, sidetrack wells and water depths are presented in detail.
