Ginko Oil Exploration and Delek Energy have a license, the carveout Tzuk Tamrur over 16,500 dunams, to explore for oil in this area of the Judean Desert where they believe there could be 6.5 million barrels of oil. Zerah was established in 2006 as a subsidiary of Ginko Oil Exploration Ltd. Zerah License (Ginko group and its partners Delek and Avner) received permission from the Israel Nature and Parks authority to start drilling at the Tzuk Tamrur 4 site at the beginning of October. The td of the drilling is planned for 2 km at an estimated cost of $4-5 million. The Zerah license covers an area of 400 sq km north of the Dead Sea. Drilling started on the 30th November 2009. The partners in the Tzuk Tamrur 4 license are Zerach (50%), Avner (25%) that are the operator and Delek 25%. On the 31st Jan 2010 Zuk Tamrur 4 partners (Zerach 50%, Avner and Delek 25% each) have decided to move to the stage of carrying out production testing at the site after the electric logs were found to be positive. Avner, the operator of the Tzuk Tamrur 4 has informed its partners that they have reached a td of 2,103 meters and will now carry out production testing at two different layers at the Ra’af and Gvanim. Production testing will take about a month and will cost $1.8 million |

לחברת גינקו וחברת דלק אנרגיה יש רישיון לבצע קידוח בתחום השמורה לעומק של כ-2,000 מטר לאיתור מאגר פוטנציאלי של כ-6.5 מיליון חביות נפט שותפות זרח נוסדה ב-2006, והיא חברת בת של גינקו חיפושי נפט. השותפות זרח מקבוצת גינקו ודלק קידוחים ואבנר חיפושי נפט הודיעו ב-10 בספטמבר 2009 כי יחלו בקידוח ב"צוק תמרור 4" באזור ים המלח בתחילת חודש אוקטובר. הקידוח יתבצע לאחר שהחברות השקיעו חצי מיליון דולר בתשתיות, כדי לעמוד בדרישות רשות הטבע והגנים ולמנוע פגיעה בשמורת מדבר יהודה שבה מתוכנן הקידוח. הקידוח מתוכנן לעומק של כ-2 ק"מ בעלות של 4-5 מיליון דולר. אתר הקידוח נמצא באזור רישיון "זרח" המשתרע על שטח של 400 קמ"ר בחוף הצפוני של ים המלח. השותפויות הודיעו ב-30 בנובמבר 2009 על התחלת הקידוח בצוק תמרור 4 הקידוח מתוכנן לעומק של כ-2 ק"מ בעלות של כ-4 עד 5 מיליון דולר. מפעילה של צוק תמרור 4 היא חברת אבנר. צוק תמרור הינה מובלעת בשטח של כ-16.5 קמ"ר בשטח רשיון זרח המשתרע על שטח של כ 400 קמ"ר באיזור ים המלח. בשטח מובלעת צוק תמרור בוצעו בעבר שלושה קידוחים: צוק תמרור 1,2,3. בצוק תמרור 1 ו 3 הופק נפט באיכות 22API, בקצב של 100-150 חביות נפט ליום צוק תמרור 1 הפיק בסה"כ כ-8000 חביות נפט וצוק תמרור 3 הפיק בסה"כ כ-120,000 חביות נפט. ההפקה בקדוחים אלו הסתיימה במחצית שנות התשעים. בסוף שנת 2006 בוצע בצוק תמרור 3 מבחן הפקה והותקנה בו משאבה תוך כוונה להמשיך ולהפיק נפט מקידוח זה. ביולי 2009 נחתם הסכם קידוח עם קבלן לפידות לביצוע קידוח צוק תמרור 4. ביום 26.1.2010 הקידוח הגיע לעומק סופי של 2,103 מטר. במבחן ההפקה האחרון, שבוצע בחלק העליון של תצורת גוונים בשכבה שעובייה כ- 3 מטר, נתגלה נפט המכיל גז. הנוזלים, שהופקו ביניקה בקצב שהתייצב על כ 50 חביות ליממה, הכילו כ 75% נפט וכ 25% מים. בשאר השכבות שנבדקו נמצא מעט נפט עם מים. הפעילות בקידוח הופסקה זמנית לצורך השלמתו להפקה סדירה ובחינת האפשרות לבצוע מבחן הפקה נוסף בחלק התחתון של תצורת גוונים. בנוסף, החליטו השותפים להקים מערך של קליטה וניפוק נפט מקידוחי צוק תמרור 3 אשר, למיטב ידיעת החברה, בהתאם למבחני ההפקה שנערכו בו בשנת 2006 עשוי להפיק 120 חביות נוזל ליממה המכילות כ 96% נפט וכ 4% מים. |

Zion Oil and Gas
Zion Oil & Gas, Inc. was founded by an American Christian evangelist John Brown in April 2000 for the purpose of exploring for oil and gas in Israel and reaching production levels that would help Israel become an energy independent country. Texan John Brown says he is on a divine mission to find oil in the land of milk and honey. Brown, who calls himself Zionist Christian, is convinced that oil-dependent Israel is sitting on vast reserves of crude and that their location is mapped out in the Bible. He is convinced that key clues are contained in a Biblical passage that calls for blessings upon the head of Joseph, and a map of the 12 Biblical tribes of Israel that shows what he says looks like the outline of a head. The company’s founding was the culmination of a 14 year process of laying the groundwork for an oil company that began during Brown’s inspirational visit to Israel in 1985. Zion currently (2009) holds two Petroleum Exploration Licenses - the Asher-Menashe License along the Israeli coastal plain and on the Mt. Carmel range, between Caesarea and Haifa and the Joseph License located along the Israel coastal plain between Netanya on the south to the southern border of the Asher-Menashe License. (13th Nov) Zion Oil & Gas Inc. (100% operator) was drilling ahead the Elijah 3 exploration well in the Asher-Menashe (334) licence area below 1,057m. The well was spudded on 18 October 2009 with a PTD of 5,182m in the Permian and is expected to encounter the Triassic at approximately 3,048m. The well site, which was selected using a recently completed geophysical survey of the licence, is located approximately 4 km south-east of the Asher-Atlit 1 wildcat. Asher-Atlit 1 was drilled to a TD of 6,531m in August 1983 before being plugged and abandoned with oil shows. |
